HACKATON

SAFINUM 2026 HACKATON

The SAFINUM Innovate Challenge is a three-day hackathon bringing together students, developers, and innovators to design fintech solutions that address real-world financial challenges. More than a competition, it serves as a platform for collaboration, talent discovery, and practical innovation.

In the context of Cameroon’s accelerating digital transformation, the challenge focuses on developing a secure and interoperable digital identity framework. By tackling key issues such as KYC and digital onboarding, participants will contribute to building solutions that strengthen trust, simplify access to services, and support the growth of the national fintech ecosystem.

“Join a community of innovators shaping Cameroon’s digital finance revolution. Whether you’re a student, developer, designer, or fintech enthusiast  your idea could change the future of payments and banking.”

MEET THE Jury

The Digital Identity & KYC Hackathon Jury will consist of 3 to 5 professionals with complementary expertise in technology, fintech, compliance, investment, and public institutions. This diverse panel ensures a balanced evaluation covering technical quality, feasibility, innovation, and alignment with national digital identity priorities.

Committed to transparency and excellence, the jury will not only select the winning teams but also provide valuable feedback, recognizing strong execution, collaboration, and long-term impact.

Who Can Participate?

The “Innovate Finance” Hackathon is open to all passionate individuals eager to shape the future of digital finance in Cameroon. Participation is free and open to:

Participants will form their own teams of 3 to 5 members and register collectively, ensuring a clear and complementary distribution of roles such as technical development, security, UX, and strategy. Teams are expected to demonstrate strong organizational capacity, effective collaboration, and technical coherence from the outset. A preselection phase will be conducted prior to the main event: a dedicated preselection jury will assess teams based on technical and organizational criteria during mini-competitions organized by zone, with the objective of identifying and selecting the most promising local teams to advance to the final stage.
